Beth sent along these pictures after Estate of Mind. As she describes it, she and her daughter forwarded some mail to her parents at the full moon. (This was not one of the pieces in the show, though part of the same series.) Thanks, Beth.
As a fine artist I create conceptual installations and mixed media pieces using outdoor snapshots or vintage family photos and domestic paraphernalia such as diapers, shower curtains, and bathmats. I paint when I can -- non-representational work of a contemplative nature. As an independent curator I have recently curated four shows, "Day of the Dead Planet," "Bringing the Past to Light: New Art from Old Images," "Estate of Mind" and "Intimate Geography." I enjoy working on projects with the EcoArt group of Southern California Women's Caucus for Art and as a board member of the Arroyo Arts Collective. In my academic life I am an adjunct professor at Glendale College, Pasadena City College, and the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, where I teach art history, contemporary art and critical theory.
